We welcome and encourage people to visit Oakdene Cattery before booking their cats in for the first time. All viewings are by appointment only to ensure we have the time to answer all your questions.
We try to be as flexible as possible, but we do ask that all Arrivals and Departures are arranged in advance so that we can ensure that you have our dedicated attention and we can re confirm any dietary or special requirements for your cats stay.
We provide soft comfortable bedding for all our boarders. Many owners like to bring something that smells of home to add to their bed to reassure them. Feel free to bring toys or a scratch post to help keep your cat active and entertained during their stay.
We have a selection of foods available to cover the majority of tastes. If your cat is on a special diet, however, please bring this with you for their stay to ensure they remain on it.
Please discuss with us if your cat has any medical conditions prior to their stay. Please bring your cat's medication with them for their stay.
We can only accept cats that are up to date with their vaccinations for flu, entertitus and leukaemia for the protection of all our boarders. Please note the leukaemia vaccine is a new requirement by our licensing body. We require an up to date vaccination certificate to be provided on arrival, we cannot board your cat without this.
Unfortunately we are unable to board unneutered cats ( except kittens not old enough to be neutered ).
We respectfully request that all cats should be treated with a flea preparation about 1 week before their arrival. This will ensure their comfort and limit the chance of fleas being passed between cats.
A couple of weeks prior to your cat's stay you will be sent a couple of forms to complete and bring with you. These forms request basic details for you and your cat(s), details of your vet in case of illness during your cat's stay and a permission form to have your pet treated by a vet if needed.
If you have any concerns about your cat's health please inform us prior to their stay. We reserve the right to refuse to board any cat who may be infectious to other boarders. In the event your cat becomes ill during their stay and needs to be seen by a vet, we will endeavour to have your cat seen by it's own vet. Should this not be possible we will take your cat to Oakdene cattery's vet which is Amery Vet Group in Alton. Any Veterinary costs will be passed back to the owner.
Payment is due on the day of arrival. We accept a Bank Transfer, cash or cheque. Please contact us for details if you wish to pay by bank transfer to ensure payment has reached us by the day of arrival. For cheque payment funds will need to have cleared before arrival.
